Celebration Arts Ministry Details

We believe the church should be culturally relevant, while remaining doctrinally pure.

Jesus was one of the most effective, relevant communicators of all time. Whatever was hot in first-century society, whatever had captured the people's attention, whatever was woven into the fabric of their everyday experiences, Jesus drew from it.

He said, "Look at the fig tree" or "Consider the mustard seed," and everyone knew what He was talking about. He told an anecdote about a man whose son had asked for his inheritance early, and the whole crowd got His point. To make a delicate point, He picked up a Roman coin and asked, "Whose face is on this?" He was fresh and current.

At Hillside Community Church, seeker sensitive services apply Jesus' methods to our generation. He told parables...we use drama. He built upon the common knowledge of His day...we tap into our current events. He addressed crowds from a mountainside or boat...we enhance our communication through twentieth-century technology. Our goal is to be timely and topical...yet remain biblically distinctive.

Here are some important opportunities for those who are spiritually gifted and interested in the arts at Hillside.

Worship Team - Vocal

These vocalists are part of the team that leads worship each weekend.  Several teams rotate during each month.  Rehearsals are held on Wednesday nights, and auditions are held periodically throughout the year.

Hillside's drama ministry enhances the weekly worship services through the presentation of sketches.

Sing in an auditioned small choir of 20-30 vocalists for weekend services.
