As a church sponsored organization, the Hillside Arts Academy will seek to provide an atmosphere that reflects the beliefs and values of the Christian faith. It is a requirement for those employed by the Academy to profess a Christian faith. Each private music lesson will have a faith-based component through a curriculum all instructors will be required to facilitate.

Our Mission Statement

Through private music lessons, the Hillside Arts Academy seeks to provide a high standard of musical instruction while promoting Christian values and beliefs.

Lesson Facts

• One half hour lesson a week
• Lessons offered: Monday - Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Hillside Campus
• Music lesson areas: Bass, Brass, Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Strings, Voice, and Woodwinds
• Each semester is generally eight weeks long with seven lessons offered
• Each semester includes 1 make-up week for excused lesson absences
• Each semester concludes with a series of showcases that feature all students

Academy Service Opportunities

Check In/Out

Greet and assist students in checking in for lessons and guide them to their lesson location.

Information Center Representative

Greet people between and after weekend services offering information about Academy events and collecting forms.

Administrative Duties

Help with mailings, emails, filing, copying and other organizational needs in the ministry.

Database Administrator

This includes being trained on the Fellowship One database system and updating data periodically.

Curriculum Team

Help create a faith-based curriculum that is used in lesson and rehearsal settings.

Marketing Team

Help promote Arts Academy registration sign-ups and musical production auditions.

Lesson Room Set-Up

Unload equipment from the storage closet and set up rooms for the Arts Academy week.

When: Monday 1:00-3:00pm

Lesson Room Tear Down

At the conclusion of Academy week, clear rooms and return equipment to the storage closet.

Recital Prep

Create recital programs from Word or Publisher, copying and preparing them for recitals.

Recital Graphics

Create PowerPoint slides that have the student's name and song title to be displayed during their recital performance.

Recital Coordinator

Plan, delegate or prepare treats for recital receptions and assist in set-up/decor of the area.

Recital Set-Up

Set up chairs and stage for recitals along with the reception area.

Help plan for the next Summer Arts Camp:  speakers, guest artists, curriculum, instructors,
