Service Opportunities at Hillside Community Church

If you are interested in serving in one of the areas below, simply email the staff person (click on their email address) responsible for that area.  Make sure in the subject line you let us know what ministry area and what ministry position you would like to serve in, i.e. Welcome Ministries, Communion Server.  The staff person or lead volunteer for that area will contact you.

You can also sign up in person for a 'First Serve' opportunity after any service in February.  Each ministry area will have a table in the Fireside Room with people there to answer questions and to sign you up!

 

Welcome Ministries

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY WHEN WHERE
Welcome Ministries Opportunities to create a warm, inviting atmosphere and to help in assisting to create a memorable worship experience
Greeters Ministry Greet people 15 minutes before and after the start of one of the three weekend services.  One service each week every other month Sanctuary entrances
Usher Ministry Function as a host to people coming in to worship service, hand out bulletins, assist in finding a seat, and collect the offering baskets.  One service each week every other month Inside the Sanctuary
Information Center Provide visitors with information materials about the church, sermon notebooks, and "getting into the game" packets, and provide forms to adults who want to sign up for events. Rotating based on need Information Center in Fireside Lobby

Wide Open High School Ministries A ministry for students in high school.   Students will encounter God in big ways through worship, messages, and interactions with others. Students will develop a deep and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as well as growing closer to adult volunteers and their peers. Our high school ministry values are that everything we do is biblically based, we provide authentic teaching and worship, it is culturally relevant, relationships are being built between adults and students, and that we are equipping students to live out their faith while also moving students to mature in their faith.  They will do all this in a fun environment that is designed to see them flourish.

Hillside Arts Academy   The Hillside Arts Academy seeks to privide a high standard of artistic instruction in music, theater and dance while promoting Christian values and beliefs.  The program offers private music lessons, seasonal musical productions, musical theater workshops, dance classes and a yearly Summer Arts Camp.  Lessons, classes and camps range in availability for ages 3-18.

Hospitality and Food Ministries To reach others through fellowship, food and service.  To 'break bread together' and encourage others to be a part of the body of the church through service.
Team Leader Helps manager/chef:  Work as a team to plan, prepare, cook, serve and clean for all types of events Special Events Café, Kitchen, Fireside Room
Opener Helps to open kitchen and get things started for events Special Events Café, Kitchen, Fireside Room
Host Greets guests at Café, takes tickets, hands out trays and cups, helps guests, keeps up with traffic flow Saturday, Sunday, Special Events Café 
Runner Takes food from kitchen to Café Saturday, Sunday, Special Events Café
Server Serves food on serving line an in Café Saturday, Sunday, Special Events Café

Upward Bound Sports Upward Bound Sports provides children an opportunity to participate in team sports in a positive atmosphere where sportsmanship and Biblical values are emphasized.
Soccer Coaching soccer concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children in various age-based leagues ranging from 4-12 years.  Late August - early November Hillside Campus & Local Schools
Hillside Fall Volleyball Coaching volleyball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to girls in  age-based leagues ranging 5th thru 8th grades. September - November Local Schools
Basketball Juniors Coaching basketball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children in various age-based leagues ranging 5th-8th grades. November - March Local Schools
Basketball Upward Bound Coaching basketball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children in various age-based leagues ranging 1st-4th grades. January - March Hillside Campus
Softball Coaching softball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children in various age-based leagues ranging from 6-12 years. February - June Hillside Campus & Local Schools
Baseball T-Ball Coaching baseball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children from 4-5 years. March - June Hillside Campus & Local Schools
Baseball Rookies Coaching baseball concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children in various age-based leagues ranging from        6-8 years. March - June Hillside Campus & Local Schools

Flag Football Coaching flag football concepts and sportsmanship in a league setting to children from 3rd-8th grade. March - June Local High Schools
Huddle Talks Write and/or present 15 minute age-appropriate Bible-Based lessons for various sports programs Various Hillside Campus 
Sports Officiating Serve as an umpire or referee for any of the sports that are in the Upward Bound Sports Program. Various Hillside Campus & Local Schools
Upward Bound Sports Camp Serve as a volunteer assisting in the supervision of children, parking, registration, or venue host during this one week camp. One week in July Local High Schools
